I Gorillaz sono una band virtuale britannica creata nel 1998 da Damon Albarn e dall'artista Jamie Hewlett. La band è composta principalmente da quattro membri animati: Stuart "2-D" Pot, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle e Russel Hobbs. Il loro universo immaginario è presentato in video musicali, interviste e brevi cartoni animati. In realtà, Albarn è l'unico collaboratore musicale permanente e collabora spesso con altri musicisti. Remi Kabaka Jr. è diventato produttore della band nel 2016 dopo aver fornito la voce di Russel Hobbs ed è stato elencato come membro ufficiale insieme a Albarn e Hewlett nel documentario Gorillaz del 2019 Gorillaz: Reject False Icons.
